Meet Dan Shier
About Dan
Dan serves as Co-Chair of OLDPUG, helping guide the organization’s planning, governance and ongoing work on behalf of Regina’s dog park communities.
Alongside Co-Chair Zoe Schneider, Dan also serves as an OLDPUG liaison with the City of Regina and the Regina Humane Society. In that role, he helps maintain communication, share information and support constructive working relationships between OLDPUG and two of the organizations most closely connected to Regina’s dog park community.
Working with the Executive Committee and Council, Dan supports shared decision-making, organizational continuity and the practical work required to keep OLDPUG moving forward.
Dan and his husband, Pete, started attending Regina’s dog parks after getting Frankie, their brown Mini Schnoodle, in 2022. The dog parks have helped them find a whole new community of dogs and dog owners to call friends, especially at Mount Pleasant’s small-dog area, which they regularly visit.
Outside of OLDPUG, Dan enjoys relaxing at home with a good game, taking Frankie for zig-zagging walks through their neighbourhood and wondering when their next big trip to Japan will be.
