Meet Linda McStay
About Linda
Linda has always had a love for animals of all shapes and sizes. Her two dogs, Rex and Max, are well known by many of the regulars at Cathy Lauritsen Memorial Dog Park.
Max, affectionately known as “Rocket Dog,” is always on the move. He can often be found doing laps and sprinting around on his own, happily living in his own little world and making the most of every visit to the park.
Rex is the complete opposite. He is usually one of the first to greet everyone at the gate, welcoming both people and dogs with his friendly personality. His bark can sound intimidating, but for Rex it means hello—and leaning his considerable weight into someone is his version of a hug.
Around the park, Rex is known as the “fun police,” keeping a watchful eye on play and stepping in when he thinks things are getting a little too rowdy. At home, his gentle nature shows in the way he watches over his best friend, the family’s semi-feral cat. He truly is a gentle giant who wants to be friends with everyone.
As a Member at Large, Linda is particularly interested in exploring ways to improve access to fresh water at Regina’s dog parks. While many owners bring water with them, she believes a reliable on-site source would be a valuable addition—especially during the hot summer months—helping keep dogs safe, healthy and hydrated.
